Quick-Attach System

The biggest time-sink with slingshots is the replacement of elastics.  Pouches and forks require jigs and wraps that take practice to learn, add moving parts, and make band replacement difficult in the field. 

The OTT FlatCat requires nothing but a length of band.  The pouch is attached with a hitch knot and the free ends hook securely into the fork tips. 
Grip
Some slingshots are designed to fill the hand for a relaxed and instinctive grip.  I've owned and enjoyed many of these, but I found that I always reached for the flattest and most pocketable slingshot when I headed out on a hike or trip.  The FlatCat was designed to give the most secure and ergonomic grip within that constraint.

Belt Clip

3D-printed belt clip makes carrying your slingshot secure and easy.  Grasp the frame, rotate forward to the 10:30 position, and slide off, already in shooting position.  No need to adjust your grip to put it back on.  If you need the bands out of the way, tuck the pouch into the clip at the top.

Keychain Bottle Opener

The FlatCat keychain bottle opener comes with every FlatCat and can be used as a mini-slingshot as well!

Long ago I discovered not all watches have batteries and, many tools and ruined watches later, I had developed some basic repair skills.  A Chinese friend's father had a watch that had stopped running.  I fixed it and he gave me the nickname "watch boy" in Chinese.  

My memory of the actual Chinese word was way off, but I had already bonded with "Byudzai," pronounced "byood-ZIGH," so I kept it.

It was a handy nickname because no one else had it, no one knew what it meant, and it sounded cool, so it became my forum name on www.slingshotforum.com.  As I developed this FlatCat design, all the very good people on that forum watched my progress and knew me by the moniker Byudzai, so it stuck.
